Clare Weyers-Wilkins

Clare Weyers-Wilkins is a child psychologist and a mother and she has created The Inspirit Technique to empower children and young adults to manage their anxiety using self-help techniques.

The reason she created the Inspirit Technique is because her eldest son who has Level 1 Autism was suffering from anxiety attacks (especially at school) and it got so bad that the school were ringing her constantly to come and collect him because he felt sick. This was his reaction to the anxiety.

Clare decided to show him some simple, effective and discreet techniques that he could learn to do on himself as his anxiety attacks were happening that would allow him to take control of his feelings and physical symptoms and asked the school to let him have 5 minutes practising these techniques before they rang the mom. And they worked so well, they haven’t had to ring Clare since!

Through techniques such as acupressure, breath work, mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy, the Inspirit Technique can provide immediate relief when anxiety strikes.

The best part is that the children and young adults learn how to use these techniques on themselves, giving them the tools to deal with anxiety independently.

They are then offered subsequent sessions to find out the root cause of their anxiety using cognitive behavioural therapy and other methods.

Clare offers a free 10-minute discovery call to assess the requirements of the child/young adult and to see if the Inspirit Technique is suitable for them.

The Initial consultation lasts up to 1 hour and 15 minutes. During this session, Clare will have a conversation with both the primary caregiver and the Child/young adult individually to understand their perspectives on the causes of anxiety.

Subsequent sessions last 45 minutes and during these, Clare will utilise a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other methods to help reset their mindset and develop new coping strategies.

Clare also offer life coaching sessions. Life coaching is a collaborative process that helps you achieve your goals and create positive changes. With the support of a coach, you gain self-awareness, set meaningful goals, and overcome obstacles. They challenge limiting beliefs, provide accountability, and boost your confidence and motivation.
