NAC 600 mg capsules (N-Acetyl Cysteine) is a highly stable and bioavailable form of the amino acid cysteine. The body uses amino acids for many functions, including forming proteins. Proteins are required for the repair, maintenance and growth of structural tissues.

Cysteine is considered a semi-essential amino acid because your body can produce it from other amino acids, namely methionine and serine. You can find cysteine in high-protein foods such as beef, chicken, eggs, and legumes. However, it may become essential when dietary intake of methionine and serine is low.

N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a supplement form of cysteine. It isn’t found in any foods, and your body doesn’t make it, but it still plays an important role. Like cysteine, NAC bonds with glutamine and glycine to form glutathione, a powerful antioxidant.
